It was indeed an honor to accept the University of Maryland’s 2025 Elaine Johnson Coates Award and to dedicate this award to my mother.
I wish to thank the University of Maryland Alumni Association for this prestigious award. Also, I extend my thanks to UMD President Darryll Pines who presented the award and to the University of Maryland – Robert H. Smith School of Business for nominating me.
Congratulations to my fellow awardees on their respective honors: Maryland First Lady Dawn Flythe-Moore, Omar Tarabishi, M.Ed, Kevin Tu, Professor Rita Colwell, Brendan Iribe, and Jackie Cardello.
Let us continue to invoke the spirit of TESTUDO and continue to act for the benefit of the vulnerable and marginalized, since we are only as strong as the weakest amongst us. GO TERPS! 🐢
